About Battat

Who is Battat?

At Battat, we believe everyone deserves to play. We're a family-owned and run business based in Montreal, Canada, and we've been making quality toys for over 45 years — with roots in business that go back over a century. Through innovative thinking, unique design, and a steadfast commitment to safety and reliability, we've created some of the world's favorite toy brands, all built around a shared goal: nurturing multi-generational play and creating memories that last a lifetime.

What brands does Battat own?

We're home to a whole family of toy brands, including Our Generation, Battat Toys, B. toys, Driven, Terra, Li'l Woodzeez, Glitter Girls, Lullababy, Hey Bestie, Iconic Drops, Pucci Pals, and Arkitec, sold in over 70 countries around the world. Explore each brand page to see what makes it special.

Our Products

What materials do you use to make your products?

It depends on the product and its age rating, but you'll typically find plastic, Citroflex, wood, cloth, metal, ribbon, and more. Wooden toys are smoothly sanded with rounded corners, and every material we use is held to safety guidelines we take seriously and keep up to date with.

How do I get a replacement part?

We can't promise a replacement for every product, but let us know what's missing and we'll do everything we can to help. Just reach out through Customer Care with as much detail as you can. Response times shift a bit depending on the season, but you can usually expect to hear back within 2-3 business days.

I opened my new product and there's a problem with it. What should I do?

The retailer where you bought it can usually sort out an exchange or return quickly. If that's not an option, reach out through Customer Care with as much detail as you can, and we'll take it from there.

Are your products guaranteed?

Yes. We stand behind the quality of our toys and warranty against manufacturer defects for one year from the date of manufacture.

Where do I find instruction sheets or assembly directions?

For current products, you'll usually find a PDF right on the product page. Looking for something older or discontinued? Check our Instruction Sheets archive. And if you're still stuck, Customer Care is happy to help track it down.

I have a child with special needs. Are your toys suitable?

Every toy comes with an age rating to help guide you toward the best fit for your child.

What age ranges do your brands generally cover?

We make toys for everyone from newborns to kidults — or kids at heart. You can browse the full range in the Shop by Age section of the site.

I fell in love with something I saw but can't find it anywhere. Can you help?

Our brands refresh their lines often to keep things fun and current, so every once in a while an item you see might not be available yet, or might already be gone. Sorry for any inconvenience there — following us on social media is a great way to stay in the loop on what's coming and going.

Product Care

How do I clean and care for my doll and her accessories?

For doll faces and bodies, gently wipe the surface clean with a wet, soapy cloth, then let her air dry at room temperature. For clothing and accessories, spot clean with cold water and a mild soap, then air dry. Unless the product packaging specifically says machine washable (as with some of our bath dolls), avoid putting dolls, clothing, or accessories in the washing machine, dryer, or near a direct heat source.

How should I care for my doll's hair?

A wire brush works best. Divide the hair into small sections and brush through one at a time, working out tangles from the bottom up. If it's tough to detangle, a light mist of water from a spray bottle helps. Be extra gentle with wavy hair to preserve the curl, and finger-style tight curls by separating small sections and twirling as you go. For braided styles, braid the hair while it's damp to help control frizz. Avoid styling products like gel or mousse, and skip blow dryers, hot rollers, curling irons, or straightening irons altogether — keep hair away from extreme heat in general.

How do I care for plush toys?

Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap where possible, and air dry. Check the product's care label or packaging for specific washing instructions, since this can vary by toy.

How do I care for wooden toys?

Wipe down with a lightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid soaking wooden toys or leaving them in direct sunlight or damp conditions for long periods, since this can warp or fade the wood.

How do I care for vehicles, RC toys, or electronic toys?

Wipe down with a dry or lightly damp cloth, avoiding excess moisture near battery compartments or electronic components. Remove batteries during long periods of storage to prevent corrosion.

Safety

Are your products safe?

Absolutely. Every product goes through rigorous testing to meet or exceed U.S., Canadian, and European safety standards, all relevant age-guideline regulations, Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) directives, and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) regulations. On top of that, our own quality control team inspects products on-site, both during manufacturing and again before they ship.

I have a safety concern. Who do I notify?

We want to hear about it. Reach out through Customer Care with SAFETY ISSUE in the subject line so we can jump on it right away — include as much detail as you can, along with a name and phone number in case we need to follow up.

Environment & Community

Are your packages recyclable?

We've put a lot of thought into this one. Wherever we can, we use recycled and recyclable materials — our boxes are made from recycled paper and can be recycled again, and we design packaging to double as play value when possible. The plastic we use is #1 PET, one of the most widely recycled plastics out there, and our inks and varnishes are soy- and water-based.

Can your toys be recycled?

We build our products to last, so the best “recycling” is often handing them down to another child to enjoy. If you're looking to recycle materials directly, check with your local recycling center, since programs vary from place to place.

Why are some products manufactured in China?

Our products are designed in Canada and the USA and manufactured in China, which helps us keep high-quality products accessible and affordable. We've built strong, long-standing relationships with our overseas production partners, and we conduct random on-site audits to make sure manufacturing, employee health and safety, and human rights standards are consistently met.

What about my privacy? If I give you my email, will you share it?

Not a chance. Any email address or phone number you share with us is used only to communicate directly with you. Our full Privacy Policy has all the details.
